What We Do
The Independence Police Foundation works closely with the City of Independence Police Department to identify policing best practices with the highest rate of success in reducing crime and disorder. We work together with the IPD and concerned members of our community to support the IPD and its officers and staff, as well as champion efforts to build a safe city and strong community for Independence, Missouri.
Who We Serve
The Independence Police Foundation provides assistance for funding of cutting-edge technology and training to support the Independence Police Department in its efforts to deter and fight crime in our community.
The Foundation also offers support for IPD officers and staff during times of unforeseen personal crises such as serious illness and injury.

Projects & Funding
The Independence Police Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that relies on private funding to support our mission. Independence Police Foundation funds are expressly prohibited from being used to replace City of Independence dollars that are allocated for fundamental policing expenses including employee salaries and benefits.
In our efforts to support the Independence Police Department in building a safe city and strong community, we focus on raising funds to assist IPD officers, staff and their families during crises; provide crime-fighting equipment and resources utilizing the latest technology; and support implementation of cutting-edge training programs for police officers.
